Ao entender isso, podemos assumir o controle apenas daquilo pelo que realmente somos responsáveis.

Se existe um problema e você está envolvido, um terço da responsabilidade é seu.
- Independente de como você se envolveu na situação, você é parte da equação.
- Este é o único terço onde você tem controle total.
- A sua responsabilidade é a única coisa que você pode controlar 100%.
Segundo Terço: A Responsabilidade do Outro
Lembre-se: você nunca está sozinho em um problema.
- O segundo terço da responsabilidade pertence a outra pessoa ou a um grupo.
- Pode ser seu sócio, um colega de trabalho, seu cônjuge, etc.
- Sobre a responsabilidade do outro, você não tem nenhum controle direto.
- No entanto, é possível influenciar o outro e a maneira como ele lida com a situação.
Terceiro Terço: A Responsabilidade do Ambiente
O terceiro e último terço é a responsabilidade do ambiente.
- O ambiente pode ser o mercado, a economia, o nicho em que você atua, ou até mesmo uma crise inesperada.
- Você também não exerce controle sobre o ambiente.
- Assim como no segundo terço, aqui você pode buscar maneiras de influenciar a situação ou se adaptar a ela.
Assuma o Controle! A Lição Fundamental
Diante dessa divisão, a pergunta correta a se fazer para resolver qualquer problema é:
“O que eu posso fazer para melhorar ou influenciar essa situação?”
A maior lição que tiramos da Regra dos Três Terços é clara: Assuma o controle sobre o que é sua responsabilidade.
Aprenda a identificar a sua parte e o que pode fazer para influenciar os outros dois terços.
O grande risco é não assumir a sua responsabilidade e começar a culpar os outros. Quando a culpa recai sobre o ambiente ou terceiros, você arruma a desculpa perfeita para não fazer a sua parte, ficando paralisado e sem solução.
Mude o foco: Concentre-se no seu terço, influencie o que for possível, e recupere o poder sobre a situação!
